Home is where the heart is. And… the heart is joyous when the home is beautiful. So… interior design is so very important. I am following a bunch of interior design-related tumblrs, and lately they have had wonderful pictures. Very inspiring, for a person who is still choosing a bedframe and sleeps only on a mattress (me, that is) But of course there is so much to aspire to, right?
I absolutely love the Jimmy Choo campaign about sharing our Choo stories. Choo-fans can share their love on the website in the Choo Connection section and the pictures are posted in the brand’s fan page on Facebook, for all the fans to read. Some of them are sobby, some of them are funny, some of them are plain emotional.
The idea is wonderful because it makes Choos so close to every woman’s heart. Shoes are something important, something we choose and covet and keep, so sharing all the emotions that we go through when choosing shoes for the great moments in our lives is simply wonderful. Sharing these emotions with the brand and all the other fans in social media channels for all to read and connect – simply genius.
Choo fairytale – this is one of my favourite stories. Sex and the city, love, shoes and happiness.
Dunno whether I am the only person in the world who does that, but I have so many songs that go unnoticed or even not liked for long time, and one day you listen to them and something clicks and you fall in music love and start listening to them constantly. I and I do mean constantly on repeat, recognizing how annoying it is for the surrounding people, just can’t help it.
Adele’s song was exactly like that, and now it is Bruno Mars. Honestly I have been wishing for that grenade to explode so he could shut up, and then the other morning on the bus to work, the song came up on my ipod and unknowingly why i decided to listen to the whole thing. Now I can’t stop listening to it.. so here you go… give it a listen and perhaps you will love it too 🙂
Second chances are not necessarily a bad thing…
Words of Aileen Mehle, describing Carolina Herrera in a Harper’s Bazaar feature about the designer.
The article reveals the life of the designer, her life in some detail and of course Herrera talks about her friends Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe and Jackie O.
The namedropping is just wonderful. About Mapplethorpe, Herrera says “He would say, ‘You have to let me photograph you,’ and I would say, ‘Why?’ And he said, ‘Because I’m going to be so famous, and you’re going to be so mad you didn’t!'” How fab is this? Reminds me a bit of my friends, only that the roles are turned and I am sure they are going to be famous one day 🙂
Herrera is one classy lady, and we as women can only learn style, poise and grace from her. All her qualities are simply put in her collections.

Today I started listening to the Sunscreen song, and realized that younger people have never heard of it. (and I am not THAT old) There is so much wisdom and truth in it, that everybody should listen to it and learn from it, and maybe then the world will become a better place.
Published as an essay “Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young” written by Mary Schmich, here are the lyrics.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….
You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours.
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you’re 40, it will
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
But trust me on the sunscreen…
Kim Kardashian is engaged!
It was just like yesterday, when at the finale of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, she decided to stay in New York to follow her heart and be with “this guy Kris” and in conclusion said that she thinks that “good things are gonna happen”… and now six months later indeed good things happened. Both are engaged. So excited for Kim and Kris. And yes, his name starts with a K too, how cute is this?
The best part of the whole thing, happiness aside, is the ring! About it Kris Humphreys only said – “I just knew I wanted it to be big.” And oh boy is it big! A 20.5 carats Lorraine Schwartz diamond custom designed amazingness!
The funniest of all is Khloe’s tweet about it. And indeed… it is a gianormous beautiful ring.
