Do you judge a book by its cover? I do! But once you go beyond the cover you discover so much more…
Rico Genest a.k.a. Zombie Boy, known from Lady Gaga’s Born This Way video and the ad campaigns by Nicola Formicetti is showing that there is more beyond the first impression. To be honest I find him a bit intimidating (politely put), but in a new ad for Dreamblend Go Beyond the Cover he is actually quite good looking(without all the tats). If there were no weird piercings on his face and he did not look at the camera so harsh, I could say we has hot. So what we see is not always what we get.
The cover up brand Dreamblend is doing something amazing, because it shows in a great way what is there to see that we are not seeing, and how what is real and normal, sometimes is not. And hell yeah, that is one good coverage product that obviously works miracles!
I have been excited since June for the Versace H&M collaboration, and it is finally here! Vogue.com showed images of the collection and to be honest I was left breathless at how horrendous and kitschy everything is! In June Donatella was talking about classic Versace moments and being sexy, but honestly there are one too many studs, blings, palm trees and horrific animal prints in neon colors! If this collection was shown on Project Runway, I am sure the judges will say the designer has a “questionable level of taste”. And I am questioning Donatella’s taste as well as H&M for this fiasco of a collection.
So let’s see what I am talking about- bright orange, neon pink leopard print, with embellishments and print of a tropical sunset surrounded by classical elements in bright yellow. It is a WTF! Who will wear this dress? And just the description of it makes me laugh out loud.
I can’t even describe the next pieces in words. For me the only word is kitschy.
But it is not all horrendous, there are a couple of pieces that are actually cute, or as Donatella says – very sexy. They are both black with studs, with a decent level of taste but nit really shining with any innovation in the design area-
So there you go, there is always a silver lining in black.
To be honest can’t wait to see how many people will queue in anxious anticipation for this disaster of a collection and buy a piece. Perhaps there will be a lot of neon palm prints left over in the stockrooms of H&M or not really, just because it is a designer label at a decent price. I am very interested to see what other people think of it.
I am a Zoe-holic, and I am not afraid to admit it. Absolutely love Rachel, her style, her drive and her bit of eccentricity. I am watching her show religiously, and deep down wish she would be my best friend. So you can only imagine my excitement when the Coveteur’s last adventures were in her headquarters. The pictures are amazing, as always on the Coveteur, but RZ’s HQ is what fashion heaven will look like if it excised on earth. Tons of everything, beautifully organized and color-coded. Heaven!
I have been thinking lately about beauty and what is extraordinaire. As I have mentioned before I am a huge Richard Avedon fan and I think he is one of the people able to caption beauty in the best possible way- straight forward, black and white with a bit of sparkle. The most beautiful women (above) seem so natural and wonderfully calm and real, through the lens of a genius.
