DJ Earworm’s United state of pop is out! Last year, I wrote that it is like a memory lane of music, and it is so true! A whole year of music in 5 minutes, just makes my little heart happy.
The songs in the mash up are ones on loop on my iphone, does it make a horribly commercial music listener or just a person with good taste 🙂

OMG! Like, really! OMG! If there is a collection this season, I can see in my wardrobe – this is it! I mean every single piece of this collection is screaming my name 🙂 The structured pieces, the high-waist skirts, the see-through hooded pieces, the fur details, the neutral colors… everything is just genius! And I mean a gray jersey, draped, below the knee length, belted dress like this one… (sigh) I am speechless!
I could not choose just a few pieces so here we go…a slideshow of true amazingness-
I love Calvin Klein, and I love their clothes because they are simple, yet classy, but sexy. The S/W collection is way too boxy for my taste, the cuts are way too unshapely, and do not extenuate anything. I like the coats, as they seem very cosy and warm, but not too wintery. The only thing that I absolutely love are the colors! Here are some of the best pieces:
For me Polaroid is something like an antique – this amazing camera from my childhood, that spits the pictures out, and then you shake them and voilà! They are iconic brand, but in the same time, not the first choice when you talk about a camera, and definitely not the lead when you start talking about coolness and innovation.
That was until now. Since the beginning of 2010 Polaroid has had Lady Gaga as their creative director, and the collaboration has resulted in Polaroid’s new products – Gray Label that include GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, GL20 Camera Glasses and GL30 Instant Digital Camera. The brand presented them this week at the Consumer Electronics Show, and definitely has been in the news ever since.
Gaga is like the golden egg, she turns all she touches in high-fashion- crazy ideas- buzzing amazingness, and Polaroid knew that very well, before they offered her the collaboration. I am not really seeing myself with a pair of camera glasses that shows my photos on LED screens on top of the lenses… but I am more than certain there are a ton of other little monsters that would be more than glad to be “trendsetters” and “express themselves” is this way. So we shall see what happens when the buzz subsides, and Polaroid shows their sale numbers. But apart from sales, yes, it was a marvelous rebranding idea, I must say. In with the hip, out with the antique.

Dolce and Gabbana’s Winter 2010/11 ad campaign features Madonna. Yet again an icon is being used by an iconic brand.
The photo-shoot is a bit controversial and even strange, but of course it would not be Dolce and Gabbana if it wasn’t. Roosters, babies, and old men.. I guess life is a never ending tale of adventures for D. and G., in which Madonna dressed in black lace fits fabulously. Some of the photos have a bit of a Malena-undertone… but that might just be me. And of course, as all black and white things in this world… there is no way I wouldn’t love it.
For all the bizarre images go have fun at the Golce and Gabbana website.
Alexander McQueen presented the pre-fall/winter 2011 collection with a great campaign on the http://www.m-c-q.com/ site. The campaign covers all predictable social media channels – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and even Vimeo so it will be spread like wildfire through the net.
The best part is the actual idea behind it – the lives of four English girls. The first one is Charlotte Besnson, who is featured in a video that is quite strange (bellow). It is great to see that the whole bizarreness of the McQueen designs can be translated into a social media strategy and videos that reflect the spirit of the brand.
Style.com published their Spring 2011 Shoes… and after more than an hour of lusting, salivating and saying “Oh My God, Shoes!”, these are the ones that “rule” for me. I tried to get them to less than 40 from more than 1500. That is what I call highly selective…
Which are your favourite?!
Love love love! the cutout lace and beading! Very retro and yet modern… and of course the black and white color scheme is just exquisite!
