Karlie is magnificent in this shoot for Vogue Australia. Shot by Kai Z Feng and styled by fashion editor Naomi Smith, in this stunning and sultry tale, Karlie wears some of the most gorgeous fashions of the season. Beautiful!

Remember the crazy sea-creature like collection of Alexander McQueen for Spring/Summer 2012?
So now there is no surprise that the campaign that is promoting this colection is just out of this world. The images are so holy, yet serene, that I feel like framing them and lighting a candle underneath. They are carrying the extraordinary spirit of Lee McQueen and keeping the same wonderfully bizarre silhouettes and textures, completely translated in the campaign shots.
Just found out this song tonight, and I feel super late as it was uploaded yesterday, and there are already more than half a million people who have viewed it, but still… It’s the new Beyonce’ track, and I honestly need a couple of more listens to actually like it a lot, but oh, the fashion in it! Like is an understatement. Givenchy Haute Couture, Emilio Pucci, Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier… need I say more?
My favourite is the black Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture gown. Divine, even in the smudgy screenshot from youtube 🙂
Here are some of the dresses on models and not in motion, for even a more careful look.

Daphne Guinness got dressed for the Gala in a Barney’s Window. Kinda sounds bizarre, weird and a bit wtf. Why would you do that? And how would you do that without the whole world seeing thing you don’t really want them to see?
Well it was quite cool I must say. The whole theatricality of Ms. Guinness’ behavour, the lighting, the clean set up was quite a show. And of course the dress itself, was a masterpiece.
So yep, weird things happen, but exactly they make life interesting and fashion unpredictable.
This is the whole 7 minutes long performance piece. Enjoy!
After last week’s wedding there is one name that is circulating around the world. Alexander McQueen. Now it is time to look back at his legacy and the magnificent way in which he interpreted fashion and was able to create magic.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has dedicated an exhibit to that magic. A collection of the best of the best McQueen. Here are some images that are breath stopping, because they show the different techniques, styles, textures that carry a single spirit- the spirit of Lee McQueen.

So today April 29th 2011 was the day of the Royal Wedding. Prince William married Kate Middleton (now Duchess of Cambridge) and the wedding was broadcasted, tweeted, facebooked, youtubed and everything else you can think of in this digital day and age.
Media I followed it on: TV – BBC Worldwide and TLC, twitter and facebook
Hours I spent in front of computer/tv : 3.5
Times I had goosebumps: Countless
But the one time my little heart skipped a beat was when she came out of the car and the whole world could have a good look of the dress.
White and ivory, long lace sleeves, vneck, quite plain, but very regal. The dress was created by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, which is a great step for the fashion world and British fashion. I love that Kate choose the McQueen House, because it carries a spirit of britishness mixed with contemporary feel, it is a great moment for Sarah Burton! Boy, what a year!
The dress is gorgeous! Very Grace Kelly and Audrey, timeless, classic and simply beautiful. So happy it was not something outrageous and frilly like Princess Diana’s dress. This was we can look back 30 years and still the dress will be amazing and not outdated.
Kate made her hair and makeup by herself, which is incredible. Both because shows how down-to-earth she is and because this is such an incredible pressure. But she looked great, indeed!
But the whole amazingness of this wedding was the idea that a common girl, not born royalty, can live the dream from the fairy tales and become a princess and have the most beautiful wedding the world has seen. We can all dream, right? 🙂
Or as Perez Hilton tweeted –
Alexander McQueen presented the pre-fall/winter 2011 collection with a great campaign on the http://www.m-c-q.com/ site. The campaign covers all predictable social media channels – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and even Vimeo so it will be spread like wildfire through the net.
The best part is the actual idea behind it – the lives of four English girls. The first one is Charlotte Besnson, who is featured in a video that is quite strange (bellow). It is great to see that the whole bizarreness of the McQueen designs can be translated into a social media strategy and videos that reflect the spirit of the brand.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is honoring one of the greatest minds of 20th century fashion the late Alexander McQueen. They will present a collection of his work in an exhibit named “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,” which will run from May 4 through July 31, 2011. It will definitely be a worthwhile trip to go to the Big Apple and see the amazingness on display!
It is still sad that the genius behind the incredible creations below is gone. All we can do is remember and cherish his talent.
Yet another can’t live without item! The perfect black leather biker jacket. One word – badass!
I just found mine this season, but have been wanting one for years. My mother had one when I was growing up, and I absolutely loved it. So now I am rocking mine!
It is such a strong piece that can be accessorized in so many different ways, and worn on many different occasions. It can make up a simple dress, or a white top and make them chic and edgy. I wear mine with a scarf to soften the look a bit. It gives up an urban vibe, but yet stylish and classic.
So these are mine two suggestions:
The Aspirational Amazingness:
Marvelous Choice for Mortals:
The much anticipated Alexander McQueen collection was presented during Paris Fashion Week yesterday.
The head designer Sarah Burton, who has been working under McQueen himself, for more than a decade truly did a magnificent job. The incredible craftsmanship was obvious. My two favourite looks from the collection are very different, but both feathery and very elaborate:
The whole collection was very versatile and ranging from pants and jackets to mini dresses to full-on gorgeous gowns.
There is obviously talent that will continue the image of the McQueen brand. Of course no one will be ever able to fit in the shoes of Lee himself… He was definitely one of a kind, but this humble lady might be on the way.
