Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for Net-a-porter, simply called KARL is out today. The bloggosphere was buzzing all days with pictures from the New York event, opinions and excited exclamations about the collection. It is strangely wonderful! Black and white of course, with a lot of silver, sequence, plastic and faux leather. Of course the print elements are outlines of Uncle Karl himself, and you know how in love I am with tanks with the face of the Kaiser of fashion.
There are some piece to die for!
It is so wonderful to see ads that can be hung in a gallery somewhere as works of art! Uncle Karl definitely proves to be an amazing photographer!
The only thing that comes to mind after seeing the great shots in admiration and awe is… poor models! This is what Tyra call modeling H-to-T. It is all so effortlessly beautiful, that I can’t believe Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw are such great acrobats. Photos FGR
Remember how excited I was about the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s and the white tank with the portrait of the Kaiser (below). But due to geographical restrictions and the lack of my favourite Macy’s in Bulgaria (and no shipping of the collection abroad) there was a very very very slim chance that I will ever own the cool piece. But… it is Christmas and all wishes come true (due to wonderful friends)!
Thanks to one of my bestest friends now I am a proud owner of the coveted tank! Seriously, best Christmas gift ever! Thank you Jill! You rock my world!!!
So as I am not a vanity blogger and don’t really post outfits of myself, I think there will be an exception when I wear this tank.. although right now I am considering just framing it and putting it on my wall :))
Happy stylish holidays to all!
After my state of wide eyed, dreamy, OMG-ness from last week when writing about the Coveteur and Chanel, I never thought something better might be posted on their amazing blog. But alas, there is time for a few minutes of true beauty as the Coveteur was invited to 31 Rue Cambon for the Paris-Bombai collection… the result – amazing photographs of amazing pieces in an amazing setting. A dream!
All photographs are courtesy of the Coveteur.
Remember the Pleasure Hunt? The super duper cool chasing around the internet game, just to find an icecream with chocolate deliciousness? Yeah… So Magnum are in for the social media/fashion/being cool game, and their campaign has reached a high that only few other brands can brag about. Uncle Karl!
Yep Karl Lagerfeld is in the Magnum house, and have created three short films, staring Rachel Bilson. All of them are a bit bizarre in their own Lagerfeld way. There is a model, a ballerina and an artist in the three videos, and of course they all eat ice cream and of course it makes everything better. Check them out on Magnum Icecream, to see whether you will crave some sweet icy chocolate delciousness after that, because indeed the ads are working. The whole idea – indulge in the things that makes you happy. What is more positive than that.
Of course wit
“I want to see the images of my imagination”
Business of Fashion published an exclusive interview with Chanel’s mastermind. Karl talks with Imran Amed about fashion, media, internet and the world…
Love the ending- “Facebook is a flawless object…it’s for me like a Brancusi.”
