YouTube Makes Me Weep!

I am not sure if I am the only one crazy person, who cries at YouTube videos. You know full on tears coming down my face type of cry. I am falling for how wonderful real life is, and thankful for the people who share their happiest moments on social media, in order to touch other people’s hearts, and in my case bring the full-on-tears part.

I just saw these two videos, and they truly touched me. I have no idea who Isaac and Amy are, where they live, what they do, but what they have shared is so much love, so much positive energy, so many great fun people and such an amazing charging story that there is no way for it not to be shared.

This video as well, a follow up of the proposal video, is charged with so much love, showing that love is all we need, and a simple yes can change a lifetime. What mostly touched me are the two grandmothers, with the photos of their late husbands. I tear up thinking about how wonderful is to grow old with someone and share a lifetime together, not even talking about having 10! kids.

This is a very emotional post, not very typical for the blog,  but in the age we live in, the lives we live are in need of more strong emotions, more positive feelings and even a bit of love, that can turn everything on the bright side.  I am a firm believer that what you bring in results in what you give out, the more positive, loving and good a person is, the more positive, loving and good people she meets. I wish the world was full of more people like Isaac and Amy. Wishing them all the happiness in the world!

Time for Little Wisdom

I have listened to this talk so many times, and every single time there is something new I find out that makes me think, contemplate and discover myself in the words. Sarah Kay is an incredible woman, whom I admire for the endless wisdom filling her words, that are never spoken like simple sentences, but always filling a melody of a continuous breath.

“Getting the wind knocked out of you is the only way to remind your lungs how much they like the taste of air.”

Better Than a Lookbook

Alexander Wang presents the Resort 2012 Ready to Wear Collection in a much cooler digital format with fab soundtrack! Is this the future of the lookbooks?

Probably a bit longer in seconds, but just as cool, lookbooks will be reformatted, interlinked and spread around the social media world in the next few seasons. It is a way more hip representation of the collection in this short video format, and Alexander Wang shows yet again his image as a young trendsetter.

Officially Plus Business Pages

The Google + business pages are not just a great myth that Google creates, they are here! As the great G says on their blog the business pages connect us with all the things we care about. And indeed, it is true. There are several pages that launched the service, and Burberry, H&M and Macy’s are three of the pages that went live as the service began.  I am very impressed with the Burberry google+ page, not only because the heading images are animated (which I think is so cool) or because they have more than 12 thousand people who put the page in their circles, but because Burberry do it the right way – a right balance of product, personalization, insights and of course a personal video message from Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer to welcome the crowd on the new page. Score Burberry, as always in the online environment!

The other two pages H&M and Macy’s have around 11k followers and are not as impressive, but very much look like a normal typical facebook fanpage.

I am interested if Google will application and further customization of the pages in order to promote better the soul of the brands that are using the platform for promotion. Perhaps now I should spend more time on the platform to see what happens as more and more people and now brands are getting on. Looks promising.

Lady Gaga is on Tumblr

My little discovery of a social network Tumblr is gaining more and more popularity! The latest mega-person with an account on tumblr is no other than the Mother Monster herself. Lady Gaga shines in her high-fashion glory in her new page titled AMEN+FASHION. The content is not much, but still some of the imagery are quite interesting.

Except the high fashion imagery, there are quotes- kinda crazy, kinda weird and part wise…

So AMEN+FASHION is added to my tumblrs, hopefully she will keep it up with more fun and different imagery.

It is very cool how she uses all social media tools in exactly the right way. Tumblr is very much about being different, beautiful and cool. She nails it. So after being one of the top people on twitter, one of the most watched accounts on youtube and one of the most celebrities on facebook, now she has new social media horizons to reach. The beginning looks quite promising.

Fashion Bloggers Galore

As you probably know already I absolutely love Net-a-porter and spend immense amount of time on the site, it is just so much fun! So you can only imagine how excited I was, when I started reading the June 8th issue of their magazine and it turns out to be about bloggers! Definitely a must read, or at least flip through for advice, tips, useful info and most of all aspirational amazingness 🙂

This is why I LOVE Sephora!

It is two weeks before my birthday and I am not in a birthday mood yet. Guess how surprised I was when I found an image from sephora in my mailbox saying that it’s time to celebrate! How wonderful is that!

The gift is really small, but it definitely makes me feel special. You know the thought counts! This is the power of the internet and social media- brands can show they care. More brands should do this, definitely creates a sense of loyalty.

Bloglovin’: The Coveteur

“It’s more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail – then you can dream all the rest around it. Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?” -Dries Van Noten

I am in love with a blog! The Coveteur is a little jewel, that sparkles in the bloggosphere. It is a mixture of beauty, fashion, style, photography, beautiful people and inspiring stories. It is “founded by designer Erin Kleinberg and stylist Stephanie Mark, is a new way of looking at the creative process and influences of some of today’s most recognized global tastemakers.”

The pictures are wonderful, the insights from the guests of the blog inspiring and the whole style of the blog is just beautiful.  Definitely a must-add to everyone’s reader.

Share a Choo

I absolutely love the Jimmy Choo campaign about sharing our Choo stories. Choo-fans can share their love on the website in the Choo Connection section and the pictures are posted in the brand’s fan page on Facebook, for all the fans to read. Some of them are sobby, some of them are funny, some of them are plain emotional.

The idea is wonderful because it makes Choos so close to every woman’s heart. Shoes are something important, something we choose and covet and keep, so sharing all the emotions that we go through when choosing shoes for the great moments in our lives is simply wonderful.  Sharing these emotions with the brand and all the other fans in social media channels for all to read and connect – simply genius.

Choo fairytale – this is one of my favourite stories. Sex and the city, love, shoes and happiness.

Exclusivity Pays Off*

In times where everyone wants to be covered everywhere, and designers invite bloggers and provide them with laptops for easy sharing in order to create more buzz and put their names on all types of social networks, there is one social media hermit who is trying to avoid the revolution and keeps it to himself and just a few selected individuals. Tom Ford.

For the first time since fashion week I got to see some of the amazing creations Mr. Ford showed to exclusive audience. A collection modeled by his muses, presented by him and viewed by few, but appreciated by many. Perhaps avoiding the social media outlets and bloggers is proving to be a win for the designer, as the interest for the collection is great. It is covered Vogue US and Vogue Paris, and many other publications including Harper’s Bazaar (where the photos are from).

The collection is amazing, details as always are a focal point that is delicate yet screams for attention. And what strikes me the most is that when I looked at the photos first I noticed the clothes and it took me a few seconds to realize that they are on famous people. Gorgeous!
